FAQs

FAQs

What happens if I need to miss a class? My dog is reactive around other dogs. can they still join a class?

While we want to include all dogs here at SpiritedDog, we want to make sure our classes are a comfortable place for all dogs attending.  We assess the suitability of nervous or reactive dogs on a case by case basis, so please email us before booking on.

What happens if I need to miss a class?

We have Whatsapp groups for the majority of our classes, where resources from the week's session are posted and where questions can be answered. Depending on the class, one or two missed sessions can be easily caught up on and we are always happy to send additional resources from the class where requested. We cannot refund you for any sessions missed, however, and for certain classes (especially those that can't be practiced at home easily, such as Agility) a catch-up 1:1 may need to be booked at a small, additional cost if more than two or more sessions are missed.

What training methods do you use?

We carry out all training with a positive reinforcement/force-free method. This is the best training method as the dog is in a happy state when training rather than being uncomfortable in certain situations.

How do I book?

For any 1-1 work with a new client we’d love to get to know more about you and your dog first. So before booking in any training sessions. We offer a FREE 15 minute consultation where we’ll chat more about the services we provide, and what it is you’re looking for.
If you’re interested in one of our fun courses you can fill in our form on that designated website page.
If you’re an “old friend” go right ahead and book the course you want with the “book now” button or pop us a message on whatsapp.

What types of training do you have on offer?

We offer 1:1 in person sessions, whether that be at your home, a local area or with us at the training hub in Blean, as well as online coaching sessions via Zoom.

How do your 1:1 sessions work?

Depending on your needs, we can keep all sessions at our training hub, which is a managed environment, and has the benefit of my own dogs being present for stooging, if we’re working on dog-dog reactivity or developing better manners. Or we can mix and match our locations to suit the purpose of our training. I like the dogs to always have a break or two within the session so they are able to process and I can chat you through what we’ve been looking at that stage.

What are your working times?

We work with 1:1 clients Tues - Fridays from 9am - 6pm, depending on instructor and availability. Our classes run on Sundays all day as well as mid-week evenings for puppies and trick classes.

Do you have dogs to use for dog-dog reactivity training?

Yes! Both of my dogs are trained to be neutral around others and are happy to be in the vicinity of a nervous or reacting dog without any conflict (dogs will NEVER be put in a dangerous position or pushed to a limit). Currently my dogs are only available to “work” on afternoons of Tues, Wed & Thursdays.

How can I contact you?

As we are usually out in the field or teaching a class it's best to ping us a whatsapp message (link)or email: admin@spiriteddogtraining.co.uk.
